2 HOURS OF POWER VOLUNTEER CHALLENGE
**Unfortunately, if no one fills these roles very soon, we may not have Spirit Wear or Yearbooks this year.**
Still Seeking a Spirit Wear Coordinator
We still need someone to volunteer to be the Spirit Wear Coordinator. Last year, Spirit Wear sales earned Morse PTO $725. The approximate time commitment is 16 hours throughout the year, and the duties include working  with the appareling vendor and delivering orders to teachers. Get more details or sign up here

We Need a Yearbook Coordinator
Yearbooks are a beloved Morse tradition and last year,  sales raised $2,870 for our school. But yearbooks don't happen on their own-we need someone to take the lead! The Yearbook Coordinator meets with classroom volunteers to design the yearbook using online software. Get more details or sign up here

Join Us For PTO 101 at Our General Meeting

Think you know PTO? Think again! For example, did you know...
  • Our PTO Board is made up of 2 preschool teachers, a photographer, a lunchroom assistant, a college teacher, a nurse, a physical therapist, 5 stay-at-home moms and a part-time Nutella eater.
  • Combined, our Board has 17 current Morse students, 4 Morse alumni and 3 future Marksmen.
And there's lots more to learn! Please come to our General Meeting on September 4 at 7pm in the Morse library to hear about our behind-the-scenes efforts to make Morse amazing.

We're NOW Taking RSVPs to our Celebrate Calm Presentations
Celebrate Calm Founder Kirk Martin, and his son, Casey, will provide parents and teachers with a dozen strategies that will eliminate defiance, disrespect, yelling, bullying, sibling fights and more that characterize our homes and classrooms. Kirk provides concrete, practical strategies that work with kids ages 2-22 in everyday situations to:
  • Get your kids to listen the first time.
  • Stop defiance, disrespect, and yelling.
  • Stop whining, tantrums and sibling fights.
  • Get kids off video games/screens without a fight.
  • Create stress-free mornings, homework time and bedtime.

GOOD TO KNOW
Five Schools, One Family Initiative
Together with the Blue Valley South West PTO and PTO/PTAs from Aubry Bend Middle School and its feeder elementary schools,  Morse PTO is  working on a new initiative--Five Schools, One Family. The goal is to build a sense of community, from our high school down to the elementary schools, so everyone is excited and proud to be a (future) Timberwolf!

The Five School, One Family Committee is selling community spirit T-shirts. Proceeds from the shirt sales will go toward putting together community-building events and Morse PTO will receive $1 of every shirt sale. Order your T-shirt here.  The order deadline is Friday, September 13th.

We've started our own Facebook page! Don't worry you'll still get all the PTO news you need via our other communications methods, but having our own Facebook page, separate from the school's Facebook page, allows us to give you the inside scoop on all things PTO. Please give us a "like" @MorseElemetnaryPTO

You’ve Got Mail (coming)
Soon, the Mother/Son Night and Daddy Daughter Dance committees will send out an email with Sign Up Genius links kindly asking parents to make donations to their respective events. These evenings would not be successful without your generous donations of items and gift cards. Any donation, large or small, is welcomed and will make an impact. Please feel free to donate to one or both events—we thank you in advance.

Thank You For Supporting Teachers And Staff  Through Take Stock in Morse
We'd like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to those of you who have donated to Take Stock in Morse. We are getting closer to our goal of $10,000. There is still time to contribute! You can donate through ParentVue or by completing this form and returning it to the office. Get more information about Take Stock and look at last year's approved staff grants.
