2 HOURS OF POWER VOLUNTEER CHALLENGE
So, What Exactly Is the 2 Hours of Power Volunteer Challenge?

Even though this year may look different, we CAN support the Morse community in a number of ways. We challenge parents and caregivers to volunteer for 2 hours over the course of the school year for Morse PTO.
  • Think you are too busy? We really do have opportunities to fit everyone's schedule: during the day, in the evening, on the weekends, from home, over the phone, via email, at the computer, in person.
  • Not sure what you have to contribute? We need all kinds of talents--people who are crafty or tech-savvy or organized or love planning events or enjoy gardening or are just willing to cut, staple or sort.
If everyone volunteers for just 2 hours during the school year, we will show our kids over 1,000 hours of community service. Are you up for the challenge? Learn more about volunteering.

**OUR MOST URGENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS**
Get more details about these needs or Sign up here
Volunteer for Announcement Sign Needed
Coordinate with the office to make monthly updates to Morse's outdoor announcement sign. Help keep Morse students and parents informed about important activities! Approximate time commitment is a few hours a month.

Would You Like to Give Input on Grant Awards?
If you are a PTO member and have contributed to Take Stock, you may want to join the Grant Award Committee. This group reviews Take Stock grant applications in the fall and determines which will be awarded.

Wanted: Student Directory Coordinator
We need a volunteer to put together the Morse Student Directory, an invaluable resource! If you are computer savvy and would like to do the bulk of your volunteering independently, this is the role for you!

Looking for a Blue Valley Education Representative
If you like to stay informed by attending monthly school board meetings, this is the job for you! Share information from the meetings with the PTO Board. Approximate time commitment is 2 hours monthly.

DON'T FORGET
No matter how your family is headed back to school next week, we've got ways you can celebrate and support our community.

Become a Morse PTO Member Today

The mission of the Morse Elementary PTO is to promote and encourage a student-centered environment with strong community connections. As a member of the Morse PTO, you receive a student directory, voting privileges at any PTO meeting, and eligibility to serve in any elective position. The $30 Family Membership fee covers PTO operating costs, Staff Appreciation Week activities, and the cost of the student directory. Pay the Membership fee under Fees in ParentVue.

Support Teachers And Staff  Through A Donation To Take Stock in Morse
Morse PTO does not ask students to fundraise. Instead, we ask you to fulfill staff grant requests by donating to Take Stock in Morse. When you pay a PTO fee or contribute to a PTO fundraiser, the funds are distributed by PTO to support specific school initiatives, but 100% of your Take  Stock in Morse donation goes directly back into the classroom  in the form of resources, educational materials, innovative programming and cutting edge technology. Take a look at last year's Take Stock approved staff grants and be sure to donate to Take Stock through ParentVue today!

Place your Spirit Wear Order
We are Student Centered. Community Strong. and what better way to show our spirit and resilience this year--whether in person or on a Zoom meeting--than by sporting Morse wear. Visit spirit wear on the Morse PTO website to see the options of shirts and face masks and place your order today!

 GOOD TO KNOW
In Case You Missed It
Thanks to the generosity of the Morse community and the efforts of dozens of volunteers, the Morse PTO raised over $28,000 last year!!! Click here to read about our fundraising efforts and the initiatives we supported. Also, due to the Coronavirus, we have updated our Events Calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. You can read more about the announcement we made this summer here.

Keep Saving those Box Tops and Hy-Vee Receipts

We raised almost $600 last year just by collecting Box Tops. Your participation in these programs matters! We are still collecting Box Tops and Hy-Vee receipts. Box Tops can be submitted through the Box Top app by just scanning your grocery receipt. You can send all Hy-Vee receipts to the office.  Read more here about how you can raise money for Morse just by shopping!

No Room Parents This Year
Since the school will be limiting parent entry to the Morse building, we will not have class parties this year, and classrooms will not have room parents. However, we can still support our teachers by emailing them about how we can help. This may include buying supplies, organizing sign-up lists, or doing tasks such as cutting or assembling projects for the classroom from home.

Ways to Stay Updated
Stay connected to our Morse community and get important announcements by liking our Morse PTO Facebook page and checking our Morse PTO website often.
