2 HOURS OF POWER VOLUNTEER CHALLENGE
Hooray! We have Spring Event Chairs We'd like to extend a big thank you to Anne Geisler and Brooke Johnson for graciously agreeing to co-chair Trivia Night for a second year in row. We know this event is in good hands, but we still need a strong committee to assist these leaders in their fundraising efforts. Likewise, we so excited to welcome a new chair to spearhead Carnival/Fun Run--thank you Melissa McCarty for stepping up to ensure this event takes place! Please help Melissa in her new role by joining the Carnival/Fun Run committee. Sign up to join a Spring event committee here. |
DON'T FORGET
Extra, Extra! Read All About It! Last week, PTO's mid-year update was sent home with students. The handouts explains the current status of our fundraising efforts and initiatives, along with an explanation of why volunteers are so vital to our success. Please take a few moments to get caught up on our work thus far. Speak Your Mind Please take a few moments to complete this short online PTO survey. We kindly ask you give us your opinions as we make plans for the 2020-2021 school year. GOOD TO KNOW
Mother Son Success Not only did Mother Son Night succeed in bringing Morse moms and sons together for an evening of fun, but it also successfully raised over $5,000 for Morse PTO! We'd like to thank the committee, volunteers, business donors and sponsors, families who donated items and everyone who pitched in to make this new adventure come to life. Morse PTO Fulfills Take Stock Wishes Morse PTO fulfilled over $11,000 in teacher and staff wish list through Take Stock in Morse. Unlike profits from fundraisers and PTO fees, which support specific school initiatives, Take Stock donations only fulfill teacher and staff requests, and 100% of these funds go directly back into the classroom in the form of resources, educational materials, innovative programming and cutting-edge technology. Thanks to your generous donations, teachers and staff have been able to make positive enhancements to their learning environments. Check out this year's grant details. Support Battle of the Bands The 9th annual BVEF Battle of the Bands will be held on January 18, 2020. This parent event supports a new program, Band Together, an initiative to help ensure our students all have access to musical instruments. This year to enhance the silent auction, the Blue Valley Educational Foundation is kindly asking schools to put together a creative and unique auction basket for the event. Please be on the look out for details about what items are needed. Blue Valley Bond 2020 On December 11, we invite all Morse parents to attend a presentation about Bond 2020. The short presentation will be held in the Morse Gym between Food for Folks and the Choir performance. The Blue Valley community will have an opportunity to vote to issue $186,835,000 in bonds for investment in facilities, safety and technology in Blue Valley schools. Blue Valley’s Board of Education approved a resolution for a January 2020 mail-ballot election that will be a no tax rate increase for Blue Valley taxpayers. Investing in quality public schools maintains strong property values and provides a positive economic impact. Read more about Bond 2020 here or visit the Bond 2020 web site. |
