HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. V
Morse PTO would like to take a moment to honor Mr. Vandemark on his birthday today. He continues to live on in the commitment of our staff during these trying times, in the virtues of our resilient Morse community, and in the smiles and laughter of our students.

We can continue to honor Mr. Vandemark by staying Student Centered. Community Strong. We love you and miss you, Mr. V!

GOOD TO KNOW
Morse Elementary Senior Scholarship
Every year Morse PTO awards a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who attended Morse Elementary for a minimum of 3 years. Do you know a graduating senior who may want to apply? Seniors can read more about eligibility criteria here and download an application here.  The deadline for the scholarship is March 26, 2021.

Do You Know an Incoming Kindergartener?
Morse administrators and staff are already preparing for the next school year. At this time the school district is seeking to determine approximate numbers for kindergarten next year as well as gather contact information to reach kinder guardians about important upcoming registration dates and activities.  Please fill out this questionnaire if you have an incoming kindergartener, or pass along the information if you know someone who will have a kinder Marskman next year.

DON'T FORGET
Find Howler
HOWLER is on the loose and ready to be found. Read more about this "Five Schools, One Family" mascot and how you can join in the fun by clicking the image.

Order a Yearbook Today
Some of you may have ordered a yearbook during 2020-2021 registration. If you'd still like to order a yearbook but haven't yet, don't delay! The deadline is Friday, February 12th. You can order a yearbook in ParentVue.

Fill Out the New Principal Survey
As part of the Morse community, we have a special opportunity to have our voices heard about the hiring of a new principal in the district. While Mr. Vandemark is irreplaceable, we can look for those attributes that made him special for our community in new leadership. Please take a minute to add your thoughts by clicking here.

SAVE THE DATE
Picture Retakes--January 27, 2021
Remember that picture retake day is coming up next week. See  Dr. K's weekly emails to get more information if your child needs a picture taken.

Valentine's Day Class Parties--February 12, 2021
While parents and guardians will not be attending classroom Valentine's Day parties, your help still may be needed. Be on the lookout for emails from your child’s teacher to see how you can assist. Donations of food, drinks, napkins, crafts, and other supplies not only help make these celebrations a success, but also ease the burden on our teachers.

Spirit Night for Morse Elementary at Chipotle--March 30, 2021
Whether you want to dine in or order online and carry out, make the Chipotle at 8301 W 151st St in Overland Park part of your dinner plans on March 30th. Stay tuned for more information soon.  Help raise money for Morse Elementary while enjoying a night off from cooking!

It's a great day to be a Marksman!
The mission of the Morse Elementary PTO is to promote and encourage a
student-centered environment with strong community connections.
