2 HOURS OF POWER VOLUNTEER CHALLENGE
So, What Exactly Is the 2 Hours of Power Volunteer Challenge?

We challenge parents and caregivers to volunteer for 2 hours over the course of the school year for Morse PTO.
  • Think you are too busy? We really do have opportunities to fit everyone's schedule: at school, in the evening, on the weekends, from home, over the phone, via email, at the computer, in person.
  • Not sure what you have to contribute? We need all kinds of talents--people who are crafty or tech-savvy or organized or love planning events or enjoy gardening or are just willing to cut, staple or sort or count out Box Tops.
If everyone volunteers for just 2 hours during the school year, we will show our kids over 1,000 hours of community service. Are you up for the challenge? Check out some example opportunities

Still Seeking a Spirit Wear Coordinator
We still need someone to volunteer to be the Spirit Wear Coordinator. Last year, Spirit Wear sales earned Morse PTO $725. The approximate time commitment is 16 hours throughout the year, and the duties include working  with the appareling vendor and delivering orders to teachers.

We Need a Yearbook Coordinator
Yearbooks are a beloved Morse tradition and last year,  sales raised $2,870 for our school. But yearbooks don't happen on their own-we need someone to take the lead! The Yearbook Coordinator meets with classroom volunteers to design the yearbook using online software.

DON'T FORGET
We're NOW Taking RSVPs to the Celebrate Calm Presentations

Celebrate Calm Founder Kirk Martin, and his son, Casey, will provide parents and teachers with a dozen strategies that will eliminate defiance, disrespect, yelling, bullying, sibling fights and more that characterize our homes and classrooms. Kirk provides concrete, practical strategies that work with kids ages 2-22 in everyday situations to:
  • Get your kids to listen the first time.
  • Stop defiance, disrespect, and yelling.
  • Stop whining, tantrums and sibling fights.
  • Get kids off video games/screens without a fight.
  • Create stress-free mornings, homework time and bedtime.

GOOD TO KNOW
Join Us For PTO 101 at Our General Meeting
Think you know PTO? Think again! There's more to us sign up requests and fundraisers. Please come to our General Meeting on September 4 at 7pm in the morse library to meet the Board and learn about our behind-the-scenes efforts to make Morse amazing.

Support Teachers And Staff  Through A Donation To Take Stock in Morse
Morse PTO does not ask students to fundraise. Instead, we ask you to fulfill staff grant requests by donating to Take Stock in Morse. When you pay a PTO fee or contribute to a PTO fundraiser, the funds are distributed by PTO to support specific school initiatives, but 100% of your Take  Stock in Morse donation goes directly back into the classroom  in the form of resources, educational materials, innovative programming and cutting edge technology. Take a look at last year's Take Stock approved staff grants and be sure to donate to Take Stock through ParentVue today or at Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 28th!
Take Walk On The Sensory Path
When the kids are away, the Principal will play! The PTO-funded Sensory Path was installed in the lobby just before students arrived last week. It is great way for kids to get the wiggles out while developing motor skills like balance, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.
