Chicken N Pickle Night Coming Up Soon The three feeder elementary schools for BVSW--Timber Creek, Morse, and Wolf Springs--are coming together to host a family night at Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park on April 24th from 4-7pm. Students are out of school on that day and will enjoy all that the event has to offer: DJ, pickle ball, bocce ball, shuffleboard, yard games, and raffle baskets! Wristbands will be sold at the door. HOWEVER, avoid the long line and buy yours in advance here. Presale wristbands are available for purchase until tomorrow April 13th and will be delivered to students to take home on April 17th. Come join the fun as we celebrate our community! Get Excited about the Carnival and Fun Run Thank you to everyone who ordered a Morse Carnival and Fun Run t-shirt. Sales are now closed. Many families may not know how the Carnival and Fun Run events work in tandem since it has been several years. The Fun Run is a FREE one-mile event to students and family members and takes place in the Morse neighborhood. Click here for a map of the course. Step 1: Register for the run. Help us plan for crowd control and safety by letting us know how many in your family will participate. You can register for the fun run in the same place you purchase your punchcards and wristbands. Click here to get started. Step 2: Arrive at 5:00pm to prepare for the race start. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park. Step 3: Have fun! We will have volunteers along the course to cheer you on and water at the finish line. Law enforcement will be present along the course route for safety. Once you finish, head to the carnival area for even MORE fun. Run registration as well as punchcard and wristband pre-sales are open until Friday, April 28th. Visit the website to purchase items and learn more about the event. |
GOOD TO KNOW
Trivia Night Next Week! This year's biggest fundraising event will be on Friday, April 21st from 6:00-10:00 pm at Camelot Ballroom. Shine your boots and dig out your belt buckle to get ready for an adult-only evening to include a Jack Stack dinner, trivia, silent auction, cash bar, and a costume contest! This year money raised will go toward a refresh of the gazebo area in the library!
Don't forget: we are still looking for some silent auction items. Visit the Trivia Night Committee's Wishlist to send a silent auction item directly to the committee. If you signed up to donate on the sign-up genius, please remember to turn in all donations to the office by this Friday, April 14! We Have One More Morse PTO Board Position to Fill We want to thank those who have volunteered for a Morse PTO board position next year. Serving on the board is a great way to build community, support staff, and raise funds to improve the educational experience. We still need one more volunteer: VP Social Activities: This position helps to establish a balanced social event calendar by communicating with event chairs/committees. This person does NOT have to plan these events. In addition, this position welcomes new families and encourages PTO membership by sending out a welcome letter at the beginning of the year (and as needed throughout the year) as well as attending new family events, such as Kindergarten Coffee, as schedule allows. This position is a great opportunity to get to know more Morse families and can be learned quickly. Do you have a student in K-2? We would love more representation from the younger grades. Are you a dad looking to get more involved? Give the Morse PTO Board a try. Are you unable to serve on the board but know someone who would be amazing in the role? Send that name our way and we will reach out. To get on the ballot or ask questions, contact us. Moving on from Morse? Once a Marksman, always a Marksman. However, if you will no longer have a student at Morse next year, Aubry Bend is a great place to get involved. Learn about volunteering at Aubry Bend by clicking here. Want to read a list of the different volunteer roles? Click here to get started. Visit the Aubry Bend PTO Website to get connected as your student makes this transition. |
